Settings for Macintosh

Please ensure 3 control panels are set up as shown in the following illustrations...

Modem Control Panel:

Verify your modem is indeed the one your Macintosh is using.

TCP/IP Control Panel:

Verify your TCP/IP settings are as illustrated below.

Remote Access Control Panel:

Verify your Remote Access settings are as illustrated below and in the next screen.

note: use lowercase, no spaces!

For Name: use your requested SignIn ID along with "@syracuse.net" as illustrated.
For Password: use your requested SignIn Password. For security reasons, it will show only in "•" on the screen.
For Number: please, please use a number that is local to where you are using the internet - click here for the Access Numbers...

Click the OPTIONS button. In the Tab "PROTOCOL" Screen, please verify the following settings...

To Connect to the Internet:

Open the Remote Access Control Panel.

Click "CONNECT".

The Status Box will indicate "CONNECTED" when your modem is connected to the internet server.

Launch your favorite Web Browser.
